Kalen Henderson

The gift of an old light meter from her father began Kalen Henderson's career in photography, one that took her from the newspaper industry to the studio world.

A former sportswriter, Henderson bought her first studio in 1987 and grew in through three building expansions before selling the business in 2006. Now a consultant for that studio as well as a staff photographer, Henderson continues to photograph as well as teach across the country and around the globe. She has been on the faculty of a majority of the PPA Schools, is a PPA Affiliate Juror and on the Board of Governors of the American Society of Photographers.

In 1999, Henderson was a keynote speaker at the Professional Photographers of Japan international convention and in 2007 she traveled to Korea to judge the Pacific Rim Affiliated Print Competition. More information may be obtained at her website, www.kalenhenderson.com.
